Eamonn Bates

Eamonn has successfully developed public affairs, government relations, advocacy and communication strategies and programmes for a wide range of companies and associations in a variety of sectors. An innovator, he has run award-winning campaigns for NGOs and supported one country in its successful bid to join the EU.

 

Eamonn’s career has spanned more than 40 years, putting him amongst the longest-serving lobbyist in Brussels today. He helped draft the very first code of conduct for EU lobbyists that was later taken up by the European Public Affairs Consultancies Association of which he is a founder, former board member and treasurer.

 

Eamonn is an experienced association manager. He has led several associations over many years. He was Managing Director of AmCham EU at the critical moment when it grew to be the authoritative representation for the “Fortune 100” companies in Brussels-EU.

 

An Irish national, Eamonn is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and the College of Europe in Bruges. He speaks English, French and Dutch.
